2 popular dance moves Nigerians rock to at parties
Nigerians love to dance and every Nigerian artist who knows
this tries to create a new dance move for fans to rock out to and keep
their song and music video alive forever. Naij.com contributor, Obey Olayinka,
has come up with a list of popular dance moves Nigerians rocked out to
starting from the late nineties to date. Check out our dance video
featuring all the dance moves below!
1. Galala
This dance step that is associated with “the ghetto” or Ajegunle, Lagos was made popular by dancehall/highlife singer Daddy Showkey in the mid to late nineties. The song grew in popularity with the rise of “ghetto” acts like Daddy Fresh, Baba Fryo, Danfo Drivers, African China and Stereoman among others. Although many artists have claimed to be the originator of the funny dance step that includes weird facial expressions and body distortions, this has not derailed from its enjoyment. A variation of it can be seen in music videos by foreign dancehall artists like Brick n Lace and Sean Paul.
2. Suo

Why I cannot do without Funke Akindele – Ayo Makun
– Ayo Makun has stamp his feet in the sand of time with his debut movie 30 Days In Atlanta
– He shares the secret of the success of 30 Days In Atlanta
– The comedian talks about his relationship with Funke Akindele and why he cannot do without her
30 Days in Atlanta was a success story, how were you able to conquer the movie industry with just one movie?
Well I cannot categorically say that I conquer the movie industry but what I can say is that I got blessed and I got rewarded as a result of taking a risk, as a result of getting myself involved with something that I’m passionate about. I will just say I’m lucky and at the same time say that it all happened as a result of hard work and content that was good enough to share to the rest of the world.
You said you took some extra miles to achieve success with the movie, can you highlights them?
Yeah, like I said earlier I have always had a relationship with people like RMD, Ramsey Nouah and building on the relationship and making it business was easy because we’ve always known ourselves, we’ve all been together in the past and it wasn’t that easy but I just give it to the fact that we had a relationship going and all of that came as a plus in trying to get them.
30 Days in Atlanta was in the cinemas for a long time and made so much money. There has been this outcry by move producers that the cinemas reap of them, what’s your take on this?
The cinemas know what they are doing, they set up their own business just the way we go there with our movies. The basic thing is not to see that one person is reaping off the other person. I think the best thing is to have the kind of agreement that will work for both parties and that way nobody will complain that one is reaping off the other.
You are already putting a finishing touch to your new movie A Trip To Jamaica. First it was Atlanta, now Jamaica, why names of cities?
Yeah because Akpos is an adventurous fellow, Akpos is somebody who loves to see the world and anywhere you see Akpors you just have to accept it so there is no specific reason why he is touring. Jamaica yes because they love our contents, they love our movies. The Caribbean’s and Jamaicans can trace their root to West Africa so taking a movie to them is like bringing their brothers to them and at the same time I also know that Nigerians love Jamaica as well so I think why we don’t have this cultural blend. That was what gave birth to the idea.
Can making movies take AY away from comedy business?
No, movie cannot take more of AY. Stand-up comedy is still very solid, the AY Live brand is still very solid and movie is just 10% of every other thing that the AY brand stands for. Ay Live is coming up on Easter Sunday, March 27 and it promises t good, it’s something that we do year in year out and we give people happiness.
There is this strong bond between you and Funke Akindele, she
is always by you either during AY Live or in your movie. What is the
bond?
Yes, it’s relationship, it is talent. Iron sharpeneth iron; it is just gaining the right connection with somebody you believe you can work with. And Funke shares that same believe like if it is AY I am ready to go. It is going to be Funke because the connection is there and she also can deliver so it is not only about connection, it is about who she is, her gift and her talent as well. She is somebody who has it and nobody will drop that idea of working with somebody like that.
When should Nigerians be expecting A Trip To Jamaica?
A Trip to Jamaica will be coming up in the middle of the year in Nigeria. It will also go to the other part of the world; we’ll do a tour of the UK, Canada, Jamaica and the US.

5 rules of success from a boy who earns $30,000 a month
Most teenagers want to feed their video game habit, and don’t think
about future. But not Temper Thompson. When he was in eighth grade he
decided not to ask his parents for money. So he started a business
online. His goal was to earn $100 every month.
Now Temper is 17-years-old and the courses on Kindle publishing that
he sells from his website are earning him… $30,000 a month. That’s more
than many Americans make in a year.
How is he doing it?
Temper Thompson shared his five rules of success.
1. Take action.
“A lot of people talk about what they want to do but they never actually do it,” Temper says. “If you don’t take action, you’re never going to have success.”
2. Don’t fear a failure.
The second lesson is to persevere.
Too many people try, fail, and give up, Temper says. “No wonder they never achieve success. Failure is an advantage. You learn from your mistakes and you get better.”
3. Stay focused.
“The most powerful thing you can do is just focus on one thing,” he says. “You can grow much bigger when you stay focused.”
4. Surround yourself with positive people.
“If you surround yourself with negative, unsuccessful people, they’ll drag you down with them,” says Temper. “Positive people will support you and help you stay focused.”
5. Don’t get comfortable.
“A lot people will hit their goal and say they’re happy,” he says. “If you don’t get comfortable, you can keep increasing goals and keep growing.”
Temper Thompson might still be in school, but he’s got plenty to teach all of us.

Shocking Video! Snake Devours Crocodile After Five-Hour Battle
A huge python won a battle against a crocodile and
swallowed the reptile whole after a 5 hour battle. The snake started
with constricting the crocodile to death, before dragging it to shore
and eating it whole in fifteen minutes in front of a shocked crowd of
tourists.
The incident was captured on camera by author Tiffany Corlis at Lake Moondarra in Queensland, Australia. She was having breakfast at the beautiful nature spot when a group of canoeists alerted her to the fierce fight.
She said: “When we reached the water’s edge the snake had wrapped itself around the croc and was tightening. The croc was still alive at this stage and was fighting to keep it’s head above water. Before long the snake had successfully killed the croc and then somehow dragged it to the bank, where it moved to the front of the croc and started to eat it face first.”

She added: “It was truly amazing, our kids were very excited to see this event unfold in front of them and not on the Nature channel.”

A scene from the incident

The Mavin boss who is known to have a healthy sense of humour, seems to have joined in on the fun. He shared a photo of himself about to board a plane, with the caption “#Eritrea offffff ✈️✈️“.

What is marriage doing to Tonto Dikeh?
The actress is well known for her drama, in fact, when it comes to controversies, she is the queen of all the queens. Is it her numerous social media dramas, her internal fights with Nollywood colleagues or her femme fatale character which sometimes get dne out of proportion?
Tonto Dikeh
Pokolee as proudly called by her fans was always in the news. If she does not tweet any controversial tweet, she is singing songs that everyone must reckon with (by fire by thunder!) or telling her followers what she is smoking and so many other things. Tattoos, her alleged fight with Mercy Johnson and the committing suicide saga..remember all those?
A keen onlooker will however get surprised at how the beautiful actress has gone backstage since she got married to Churchill Oladunni, on Saturday, August 29, 2015. No controversies, she does not post as much pictures of herself as she’s always done on Instagram, even her followers miss this about her. Comments about this are not scarce to see when she posts photos of her dogs, friends and husband.
Tonto Dikeh
The actress ended year 2015 with the proclamations that she gave her life to Christ. Does it mean the ‘Christ-like’ life is what is making her stay cool and less controversial? Or is it her pregnancy that has made her simmer down? Dear Tonto, what is marriage doing to you?

On Tuesday, January 26, j2k tv man, sam young spoke with some rat poison sellers around Ogba area of Lagos state regarding the lassa fever outbreak the state and some parts of the country.
In a one on one chat with j2k tv, two of the major sellers of the rat products in the area explained all what they know about the disease. They were Akangbe Idowu and Isaac Dakum.
Akangbe Idowu
The first interview was with Akangbe Idowu, an elderly man and a Yoruba. The man is in his late fifties. He said he has been in the rat poison business for over 10 years.
Idowu said Lassa fever is caused by rats. He said rat poison are very effective in killing the rats and thereby will prevent Lassa fever. He said if anybody wants to use the rat poisons, the person should ensure he or she covers all his or her food and water or any edible thing as the rats may contaminate them with the poisons before they die with their mouth or body parts as the poisons are very powerful.
He said: “If a rat eats a poison and put its mouth in a pot of soup, there is no how this will not affect the person that eats the soup. Also, after the rat has been killed by the poison, we should endeavour to carry the dead rat with our hands covered in nylons and thrown away or buried in a place no one will have access to it or children will come near so that they will not have direct contact with the dead rat thereby preventing contamination.”
The other rat poison seller by the name Isaac Dakum is a secondary school leaver and is 32 years old. He is from Ghana. He has been living in Nigeria for at least 15 years. He also bares his mind on the Lassa fever epidemic ravaging the country.
J2KTV: When asked when he started business (selling rat poisons), he has this to say
Dakum: I started selling rat poison products in Lagos since 2002.
J2KTV: Why did you go into rat poison business
There was no job. I needed to make some money as there was nobody to sponsor my education or foot my bills. I needed to support my education and fend for my personal and daily needs.
Isaac Dakum
J2K: Tell us more about your knowledge of Lassa fever
Dakum: Lassa fever is a sickness caused especially by rats when the rats with the disease come in contact with man and infect man. From there on the man infected can pass the disease to other people thereby making the disease to spread. And all these animals that cause Lassa fever should be killed with rat poisons and also by using animals like cats at homes to kill and scare away the rats that cause Lassa fever. These rats are the ones that bring Lassa fever. Also, the house and its environment should be neat and cleaned regularly as all these will reduce the numbers of rats that could come into our houses.
Dakum also said the federal government should ensure that the Lassa fever is tackled with all the necessary methods to wipe out the disease.
He concluded by saying that the people of Nigeria are very accommodating and friendly. He said Nigerians are one of the best African brothers any African could have. He said Nigerians love themselves and have a warm relationship with everybody.
He advised the government of Nigeria at all tiers to stem the tide of corruption. He urged the government to provide jobs for the unemployed youths and help finance the education of the indigents as all these will drastically reduce crime.
Finally, he praised the Lagos state government for making the state cleaner and more organised.
